WHY CHOOSE MEDIATION?

  • You make your own choices about how you want to manage your affairs

  • Private and confidential

  • High success and satisfaction rates over litigation

  • Save thousands on attorney’s fees and other legal costs

  • Mediation can help parties resolve their conflicts in one or a few short sessions without a long wait (saving months, even years!), so they can move forward and get back to living their lives!

HOW DOES MEDIATION WORK?

Mediators help parties resolve disputes in the following ways:

  • Help parties identify and target specific issues to be resolved;

  • Meet privately with parties to discuss their subjective positions, concerns, and potential offers to present to other parties;

  • Guide discussions between parties in a manner that is productive and solution oriented; and

  • If necessary, help parties construct a written agreement that best represents any agreements reached to resolve the matter in whole or in part, and makes clear the parties’ next steps.

    A MEDIATOR IS…

  • NOT acting as a judge or arbitrator - I do not make decisions on merits of a case or orders of any kind

  • NOT acting as a lawyer - I cannot give any party legal advice

  • A neutral party! - Mediators do not represent any one party, and their goal is to help the parties communicate and negotiate a best possible outcome between them.
